Michael Howe, a Colden Principal owner, has more than 30 years of professional experience in occupational health, safety and industrial hygiene. His areas of expertise include chemical, biological and physical agent risk assessments, industrial hygiene monitoring, hazard communication, indoor air quality, safety and industrial hygiene auditing, OSHA regulatory compliance and hazardous material testing and remediation design. Mr. Howe has worked in a variety of industries including aerospace and defense, automotive, semiconductor design and manufacturing, construction, consumer goods, health care, pharmaceuticals, power generation and distribution, and telecommunications.

Mr. Howe holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Le Moyne College, and maintains certification in the comprehensive practice of industrial hygiene. In addition to being a Board Certified Industrial Hygienist, he is a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and the National Safety Council (NSC).

He started his career in 1985 working for E. I. DuPont in Pennsylvania where he was responsible for chemical exposure assessments in the film coating operations, VOC air emissions monitoring for the plant’s solvent recovery facility and product testing. He also worked for the Environmental, Health and Safety Services Department at Syracuse University as a Chemical Hygiene Officer and Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). He began his consulting career with Galson Corporation, where he worked for over ten years as an Industrial Hygiene Department Project Manager responsible for projects throughout the Unites States, Europe, Asia and Central America. He has been a Principal/Senior Consultant with Colden since 1997.
