Paul Kocak

Technical Editor

Paul Kocak brings the benefits of a diverse and dynamic career in communications and marketing. Building on more than 30 years’ experience, he edits regulatory documents, project reports, and marketing communications. In these capacities, he provides oversight for quality assurance, clarity of message, and technical consistency.

Mr. Kocak is a graduate of Le Moyne College, having earned a bachelor of arts in English. He also completed a graduate course in environmental policy and impact at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF). He has published articles on technical communication in national and peer-reviewed publications.

Mr. Kocak began his career as a high-school English teacher in Marcellus, New York. He worked as a copy editor at The (Syracuse) Post-Standard and as a language arts textbook editor for Silver Burdett Company. From there, he worked for Random House, in New York, first as a product manager serving schools and libraries with audiovisual teaching materials. He continued at Random House, and later McGraw-Hill, as a project manager responsible for producing educational programs in association with CNN, The Associated Press, The New York Times, and others. His environmental career began in 1990 as a technical editor at the Galson Corporation, later serving in marketing at O’Brien & Gere, technical editing at Blasland, Bouck & Lee (Arcadis), and business development at Environmental Design & Research and Abscope Environmental.
