We are pleased to announce that Mike Glowatz, MS, CIH, CSP will be joining the Colden team as a Senior Consultant working out of the Blue Bell, PA office. Mike brings the benefit of more than 35 years of experience in the environmental health and safety (EHS) field. He has worked in a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, research and development, manufacturing, construction, and office-based management systems. He has experience in evaluating EHS systems both domestically and globally, and implementing effective EHS systems.
Before joining Colden, Mike served as an Executive Director for Merck & Co. He was responsible for managing environmental health and safety in Latin America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as global responsibility for EHS in R&D, commercial fleet and global office sectors. While at Merck, Mike had also managed the Merck Safety & Industrial Hygiene Center of Excellence.
In addition to being a Certified Safety Professional, he is also a Certified Industrial Hygienist. Mike holds a bachelor of arts in biology, and a master of education in environmental science from East Stroudsburg University. He also earned a master of science degree from Temple University in environmental health.
He began his career in the Safety Engineering Department of the Hartford Insurance Company, and then went on to spend seven years with federal OSHA in Regions II and III rising to the rank of district supervisor. He then managed environmental health and safety for Proctor and Gamble’s pharmaceutical division of 4,000 employees, which included three plants and R&D operations. Mike also worked for eighteen years at Lucent Technologies/Bell Labs and was responsible for managing the environmental health and safety of over 75,000 employees globally.
