Industrial Hygienist Miriam Koesterich Obtains Board Certification for Industrial Hygiene

Colden Corporation is pleased to announce Miriam K. Koesterich, MS, CSP, Industrial Hygienist, is now a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) as recognized by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH).

From our Albany office, Miriam Koesterich specializes in industrial hygiene, risk assessments, safety program development, environmental health and safety (EHS) best management practices, training, and indoor environmental quality surveys. Ms. Koesterich is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Over the course of a 5+ year career, achievements have included serving as an on-site health and safety manager at a number of different client venues including former manufactured gas plants (MGP), paper mills, refineries, inactive transformer yard, and emergency oil spill cleanups.

Ms. Koesterich received her bachelor of science in industrial hygiene and environmental toxicology from Clarkson University. She earned a master of science in environmental health science with a concentration in industrial hygiene from Colorado State University. As an undergraduate student, she created a laboratory chemical hygiene program and developed a campus hazard communication program. During an internship with OSHA, she participated in various inspections and employee interviews. She holds numerous OSHA certifications, including (1910.120) 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), and HAZWOPER Supervisor. Ms. Koesterich is also trained in 510 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry, 10-hour and 30-hour Construction, and 10-hour General Industry. She is also a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) and the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE).
