Bryan Nystrom joined Colden’s Boston office as a Project Consultant following his retirement from a 21-year career in the U.S. Coast Guard. His expertise includes industrial hygiene, health and safety auditing, and safety program development. Throughout his career in the U.S. Coast Guard, he provided extensive contingency planning and emergency management for numerous natural and manmade disasters. As a Regional Safety and Environmental Health Specialist, he provided environmental health, safety, emergency response, and industrial hygiene support to 138 Coast Guard facilities and 7,500+ employees across eight states. He also served as the supervising Safety Officer during the 2017 Hurricane Maria and the 2019 Hurricane Dorian incidents.
Bryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Excelsior College in Albany, NY. He is a certified Asbestos Site Inspector and Management Planner, as well as an EPA Model Lead Risk Assessor and Management Planner. He holds an active OSHA HazWoper 40-hour certificate.
Bryan is an active member of the New England chapter of the American Industrial Hygiene Association. In his spare time, Bryan likes to go offshore fishing and spend time with his two kids.
