Joe Cantone will present an overview of Personal Air Sampling at the Annual PACNY conference on February 28, 2013 and March 1, 2013 at the Turning Stone Casino and Resort in Verona, NY.
The purpose of the presentation is to educate and clarify misconceptions of personal air sampling. Mr. Cantone will discuss:
- Necessary equipment, including rotometers and calibration requirements
- Proper procedures for donning equipment and determining sample location
- Understanding “why” sampling is required and collected for different tasks
- Interpretation of sampling data and how it applies to the workers and their 8 hour TWA
The presentation will also address respiratory requirements and ramifications associated with lack of sampling. Mr. Cantone will discuss how personal air sampling is not limited to asbestos sampling and how it can be applied to other potential occupational exposures such as lead, silica and hexavalent chrome.
