Join Industrial Hygienist, Clinton Smith, MS, CIH, CSP, LEED Green Associate for his presentation on Fall Protection Equipment in the Workplace: A Distribution Center Case Study for Mohawk Valley Environmental Information Exchange (MVEIE) on June 13th at 7:30am at SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica, NY.
Abstract:
In 2016, 38% of all deaths in construction were caused by a fall. This presentation will provide a brief overview of where fall protection is required, types of fall protection equipment, and methods for care, maintenance, and inspection. During a 2016-2017 project, Colden inspected hundreds of pieces of fall protection at seventeen (17) distribution centers across the United States. The inspection findings, and their implications, will be summarized.
