Indoor Air –  Lessons from COVID and What’s Next

Our realization early in 2020 that indoor aerosol transmission played a major role in the COVID-19 pandemic helped us focus our clients’ limited resources for maximum impact. Colden applied this knowledge when advising clients – by assessing and improving HVAC operation, prioritizing upgrades, and serving as owner’s rep to independently review technology manufacturers’ claims regarding removal or deactivation of the virus.

Our work continues during this next phase as we align our services with the federal Clean Air in Buildings Challenge. We’re working with our clients to optimize and monitor their indoor air quality, and critically, to educate their stakeholders about recent “behind the scenes” improvements.

The new federal Challenge initiative is backed by the American Rescue Plan, dedicating $122 billion for schools and $350 billion for state, local, and Tribal governments, which can fund additional upgrades for local businesses, commercial building owners, nonprofits, community centers, and other public buildings. Now is the time to act! Contact Catherine Bobenhausen, MS, CIH, CSP, AIHA Fellow, LEED AP BD+C, for more information, bobenhausen@colden.com, (914) 874-6285.
