James N. Miades,
As manager of Colden’s New York City office, James Miades has over 18 years’ professional experience delivering environmental remediation services with a focus on asbestos and lead inspection and abatement. Of particular note, he has performed over 100 environmental health and safety audits for Fortune 100 companies. He has also managed asbestos and lead-based paint inspections and risk assessments of military family housing and base facilities at 44 United States Air Force bases across the United States, Europe, Asia, and Central America. These projects addressed over 35 million square feet of building space, requiring the collection of over 50,000 samples.
As a project manager, Mr. Miades has over 14 years of experience in overseeing inspection and abatement projects associated with property management, construction, and renovation. He provides solutions in collaboration with client’s corporate staff, owners, and regulatory officials. Although Mr. Miades specializes in compliance and oversight of lead and asbestos remediation projects, most projects are multi-disciplinary and require a range of environmental and industrial hygiene solutions.
Mr. Miades earned his Bachelor of Science degree in geology from Lehigh University. He has received extensive training in the disciplines of asbestos inspection, project design, and management planning in addition to environmental audits and lead inspections.
Beginning his career as an industrial hygiene technician with Galson Corporation, Mr. Miades rose through the ranks from environmental scientist to project manager. Before joining Colden, he also served as asbestos and lead group manager for ENSR International.
