Michael Howe has more than 40 years of professional experience in occupational health, safety, and industrial hygiene. Principal areas of expertise include chemical, biological and physical agent risk assessments, industrial hygiene monitoring, hazard communication, indoor air quality, safety and industrial hygiene auditing, OSHA regulatory compliance, and hazardous material testing and remediation design. He has worked in a variety of industries including aerospace and defense, automotive, semiconductor design and manufacturing, construction, consumer goods, health care, pharmaceuticals, power generation and distribution, and telecommunications.

Micheal holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Le Moyne College and maintains certification in the comprehensive practice of industrial hygiene. In addition to being a Board-Certified Industrial Hygienist, he is a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), and the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH).

He began his career in 1985 working for E. I. DuPont in Pennsylvania. He was responsible for chemical exposure assessments in the plant’s film coating operations, VOC air emissions monitoring for the solvent recovery facility, and product testing. At Syracuse University, Michael was a Chemical Hygiene Officer and Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) in the Environmental, Health and Safety Services Department. His consulting career began at Galson Corporation, where he worked for over ten years as an Industrial Hygiene Department Project Manager responsible for projects throughout the Unites States, Europe, Asia and Central America. He has been a Senior Consultant and Principal with Colden since 1997.
