EHS Specialist

Chizoba Onwubuche serves as a Project Consultant out of Colden’s Syracuse office. Chizoba provides industrial hygiene and safety consulting services to a wide range of clients. He performs industrial hygiene assessments for chemical and physical agents, evaluates hearing conservation programs through noise dosimetry and area noise mapping, conducts indoor environmental quality assessments and assesses outdoor environmental noise to meet local regulations. Additionally, Chizoba provides Lockout/Tagout support and develops equipment-specific energy control procedures.

He earned a from the University of Port Harcourt in Nigeria and a Master of Science in Environmental, Health and Safety Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, NY. Chizoba joined Colden with over three years of experience with Acme Drilling in Port Harcourt, working in preventive maintenance in the onshore oil and gas exploration industry.

Before joining the Colden team, Chizoba completed Environmental Health and Safety internships with Plug Power in Rochester, NY and Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. During these internships, Chizoba performed job hazard analyses, health and safety program and training development, indoor air quality assessments, ergonomic evaluations, respiratory protection testing, and noise exposure monitoring.

He holds the Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).

Outside of work, Chizoba enjoys exploring new places, biking, appreciating nature, hiking, and playing soccer.
