Jessica Phippard joined Colden’s New York City office in 2020 as a Project Consultant with nearly 10 years of environmental health and safety experience. Since her start with Colden, Jessica has been serving as the Health & Safety Manager for a major network morning show, where she manages the COVID-19 testing program, develops COVID-19 safety protocols, and provides daily COVID-19 safety policy oversight.

Jessica began her career in the academic sector, at The Rockefeller University, and later, at Columbia University, where she performed laboratory safety and compliance inspections specific to fire, radiation, and biological safety. Within these roles, Jessica prepared and presented safety training materials, and consulted with laboratory and administrative personnel on indoor air quality, personal protective equipment, standard operating procedures, hazardous materials/waste storage/handling, and regulatory compliance. While at Columbia University, Jessica worked to effect changes in safety culture through targeted and conversational inspections, an approach which she presented at state and regional conferences. More recently, Jessica served as the Industrial Hygiene Manager at the New York City Transit Authority, where she led a team tasked with the oversight of the Agency’s hearing conservation, respiratory protection, hazard communication, infection control, and confined spaces programs. To this end, Jessica and her team conducted employee exposure assessments, indoor air quality surveys, toxicological evaluations, and investigated employee/public concerns relating to occupational and environmental health.

Jessica earned her Master of Public Health in environmental and occupational health sciences from the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health & Health Policy, and she is currently studying to obtain her CIH. When not at work, Jessica enjoys biking, yoga, exploring parks, crocheting, indoor gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and her two cats, Cody and Maggie.
